Drip Catcher 

This is a very useful item for anybody who uses the kitchen faucet.  The drip catcher catches the drips from your hands every time you turn on or shut off the water.  At the end of your work, there are no drips around the faucet to clean up since they all have been sopped up with the drip catcher.  When I first listed these on ETSY, they were featured on somebody’s blog for camper accessories.  I sold about 20 the first day the blog posted.  The sales kept on going for about 4 months, they have slowed down now, but I am sure when spring comes around and people search for camper accessories the sales will increase again.  Prices range from $7.25+ and can be made with one or more holes to your specifications.  Just make sure you let me know the measurements when you order.

Microwaveable Bowl Cozy 

They are our best craft show sale items.  Everybody comes back for more every year once they  have them.  You put your bowl of food in the cozy that you want to heat up in the microwave, then when you take it out of the microwave you have something to hold onto instead of a hot bowl.  I sell them individually or in sets.  They are made out of 100% cotton materials. 

Kitchen Towel Boa 

These are such fun items.  You put it over your neck to hang in the front of you for easy access to towels while you are in the kitchen, washing the dog, cleaning up the party zone, working in a concession stand, or working serving food.  Nice to keep a towel handy to wipe your hands nearby.  Plenty of fabrics to choose from so there are several listings to get all the styles pictured.  These are a new item in my shop but they are already selling nicely.

CPAP hose covers 

When we first put these on ETSY, the sales were crazy.  My sister and I were sewing night and day to keep the listings on the website.  The sales have slowed down for now but we still have a lot of choices to pick from.  These keep the condensation out of your hose so it will not build up and fill up the hose.  For now these are the listings I have on Etsy for now.  My sister and I do take special orders if there is something you need that we can sew.  Thank you for looking.  Coleen

Snail’s Trail PQ 12.4

 Project quilting 12.4 Snail’s Trail block. Very fun block. After making 20 blocks I knew I woul run out of time before the deadline. Trish suggested (on my Facebook post) to extend the colors with blocks, I did and with the border it makes a pretty baby blanket at 34x38”. Very happy how it turned out. 

I did an all over “Snail Trail” meandering quilting stitch on the main part of the quilt, and a wavy stitch on the border with my domestic sewing machine  about the biggest quilt I can top stitch comfortably.

Project Quilting 12.3

 My vacation “tiny” quilt. Not much time this week to sew but I did make a small drip catcher for my weekend home camper. It goes around my single faucet in my camper kitchen. Now I won’t have to wipe doin the faucet area on the sink each time t do dishes.

Project Quilting 12.2 Fussy Cut

Well, I had Monday off work and started to put together a nice fussy cut block throw, got the top done but didn’t have time to get batting and backing so...

 I started making a potholder for my daughter instead Saturday night after watching my 3 young grandsons for 3 hours. 

I found some scraps with these really cute cats walking on the beach, put some other scraps in beige tones and slapped it together with batting and insulbrite between the layers. Put on some binding and done. Measures 9.5x11.5”.   Came up with this. 

I will try to finish the throw quilt this winter.  I got an old singer 66 and a 301A for free so I’m going to clean and oil them up and try to use one to quilt it  

Project Quilting Season 12.1

 

I made a new large 33”x15” hot pad that I can use at camp for all the food spreads we have with our camp friends.  Really didn’t like the color scheme I needed to use, but I did have enough scraps and pieces to make this quilt.

Made strips (no pic) and cut them bargello style to 2.5” wide and stitched back together for the quilt top.

Cut out a piece of leftover oven mitt backing to be 2” smaller than my top so I could roll over the front to the back to finish it off  

Then I stitched across the grey blocks with yellow thread.  Stitched across the other way on the grey to crosshatch the stitching.

Little hard to squeeze a larger quilt into my sewing machine.

I hand stitched the corners to make them pretty, then I did a decorative stitch to keep it prettier!

I probably use the backside to put the cook pots on, coming off the grill and cooktop will probably make the pots and trays a little dirty on the bottoms. The reflective backing should be easier to clean then the cotton fabric.
